Almost perfect!
Posted in: Gardening, Life, Perspective, Self Awareness by POHA on June 1, 2008
This was an almost perfect weekend!
The weather was absolutely gorgeous, and I got my first sunburn of the season. I was able to wear a tank top and short skirt. I played in the dirt, planted my garden, handled yard work that so desperately needed my attention. My lower back is sore and my body is utterly exhausted. I’m getting thinner– and that’s nothing to complain about!! My arms are starting to show some definition that I noticed this morning…
I love gardening. I love yard work. I love being in the sun…
It was glorious, almost perfect.
The part that makes it not perfect was that I did this all alone. My guy is gone. None of my friends could make it over.
Everyone’s got their own lives going on…
I suppose this is where I put more energy into making friends with people who can come over– who have similar lifestyles to mine… who enjoy playing in the dirt, being in the sun and… you know, are more like me.
Yesh.

Hey Poha. Snap, on a number of fronts (except the short skirt, maybe) It makes a difference, doesn’t it, when the sun comes out to play? I love it. We’ve had a simply scorching weekend, pure bliss, spent almost entirely in the garden.
Now wait. It’s been a wee while since I was last here - I actually came to say hello a few weeks back but started to watch the documentary about the rubbish in the Atlantic and ended up watching all of it (depressing - and the the fact that there wasn’t a huge big mountain of rubbish to see, as I had imagined, but that the ocean itself is pretty much made up of rubbish was, in fact, all the more depressing) - so I’m not entirely sure what you mean when you say that your guy has gone. *Gone* gone? Or simply gone for the weekend?
I’ll need to try to find where I was with your posts (I’ve got a bit lost) and see if matters are cleared up. Either way, I’m happy you had such a beautiful weekend. Life would be intolerable without these simple pleasures. I think so, anyway.
Hope you’re okay…..
Kind regards etc,
TPE

Someday when we get a house, I might need your help in setting up a garden. I can make cut flowers look good, but I cannot keep a plant alive.

Hi Ash!
This is kind of a random place to ask this, but I’m not sure where the “Contact” info is..so, I just did it here. I was wondering if you would be interested in sponsering a child through World Vision. World Vision is a HUGE charity that helps individuals and villages help themselves through education, awareness and by giving the villages what they need: clinics, schools, clean water, etc. I am a World Vision Child Ambassador would encourage you to take a look at the website if you have a few minutes (www.worldvision.org)and if you wanted to sponser a child, I could set that up for you. It’s 30 - 35 a month and it can be paid like a bill or by automatically withdrawing from the bank. Ryan and I sponser a child in Ethiopia and it has been VERY rewarding and just feels good to be a part of the solution - you will get letters from your child and can VISIT your child to see first hand what World Vision is doing in their village. ANYWAYS, please take a look at the website and let me know if that would be something that interests you. I have a very cute kid named Brice who I would love to get sponsered. Also, let me know if you have any questions about my experience with World Vision. Their website, however, is the best source for concrete information. Thanks!!

@ tpe: Snap! YES! And nothing wrong with mowing the lawn in a short skirt, right? My neighbors love me. *chuckle*
So much has happened while you’ve been away, we missed you!!
My guy will return in 16 days. It’s been a long, grueling several weeks. 63 days total. He’s off handling some business. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, right? Well that seems to be the case here!!!
@ Colleen: Haaaaay! I will totally gladly teach you to grow plants. Want to come over some time for a “lesson”?
As for your sponsoring a child, yes, I’m interested… Buuuut, I have to be able to pay for the kids I’m currently supporting first, and I’m almost there. Ask me again in six months?? Yay for you two doing that. I love sharing money!!

Ash,
I totally understand!!! I didn’t even think about how you are supporting two kids already : ) Chill on it for awhile.
