In spite of the bear coming back for three servings of our sweet foods, we had the most magnificent experience… Look how beautiful the sky is!!!
We played this really competitive game called Lasso Golf. The girls kicked the boy’s butts big time. (Okay, that’s a lie, but we’ll just say it that anyway.)

Our adventure really got good on Saturday night. This is when we had our close encounter with a bear. Three times. Apparently he thought we were good hosts.He waited around until we all were in our tents… and then decided to cause a ruckus. He had to have been outside our perimeter waiting for us– because as soon as we all were almost asleep, there was a distinct crashing noise that could shake the dead.

There’s something magical about camping in Colorado. We took our first trip for the year late in the season– this last weekend. It was PUUUUURRFECT! If you’ve never been camping out here in this gorgeous land, check out these pictures… THIS is why we do it!!!
Above is a picture of the Jeep before we left. It’s all pretty and shiny. Hooray for shiny!
We went up near Guanella Pass– though I’m not sure yet where exactly we were… still working on figuring that part out, but I think it was somewhere along Geneva Creek. We came up there through Grant, CO, and it was only a little more than an hour away from home.
