    The Equivalent of God(dess)’s Face

    Ever heard of Ouray, CO?

    That’s pronounced Yer-ay, by the way.

    I couldn’t take pictures. I was too freaked out. The canyon just south of Ouray was STUNNING.

    Can you imagine seeing the face of God(dess)? Can you imagine the power of the sun without heat?

    That was exactly how I felt. It was too much. Deep canyons, riveted with a few lush pine trees, rocks the size of downtown Denver…

    The Last Day of Adventure

    Crestone is sort of like a hippie commune with multiple neighborhoods, a couple of ashrams, and more mosquitoes than should be legally acceptable.

    We camped out on private property with a few homeless folks– but that’s not the image I want you to see.

    A local man called “Chemo” or “Kimo” offered to drive us to “the most beautiful camping spot in all of Colorado, the US, Canada, and major parts of Asia.” I’m convinced he was mistaken, but no doubt it was beautiful. We halted the Jeep, pulled the Great Danes out of the back, and followed Chemo through soft sands while he tried to remember just where he had squatted.
