Good goddess this life can be so interesting.
For some reason today finds me in a reflective mood. I suppose it’s the end of the year, the holidays, the time away from school (so I can think) that encourages me to be so damn nostalgic.
There are SO many people who have touched my experience, especially within the last year, who have changed me– interacted with me in such a way that I have re-evaluated who I am and how I want to be… it amazes me to think back to where I was a year ago and to see how much I’ve changed since then.
I have had some amazing experiences with you all. Men, women, and children… there are a great many of you to whom I give credit. You influenced me, you taught me, you made me think about my experience. In all of the many interactions I’ve had on very personal levels with you all, I feel like I’ve grown… I’ve been put into interesting circumstances which allowed me to grow my experience– so I can watch how I’ve reacted within the experience and know more about myself. In my love for people watching, I, especially, am not exempt from the gaze of my curious watching self.
There are a great many of you who are absolutely stunning to me. You are bright and shining stars amongst the darkness– and thankfully, with all of you together, I can see a lighted path. My goodness, I’m grateful.
I’ve formed some pretty amazing and extremely significant relationships in my last year. I’ve gained a family of my own– an immediate family. It’s beautiful, and it’s a learning experience, and it’s lovely, and wonderful, and crazy, and magnificent. All at once.
I’ve had lovers and enemies and lost best friends and made them. I’ve learned so much about me in the mean time that I’ve come to terms with the fact that I may never know myself fully: I am dynamic and changing and sometimes somewhat unpredictable. And that is perfectly okay!
Yes, this has been an extraordinary year. If I grow and change as much as I have in the last couple of years, then who knows who I’ll be in a decade!
